Students of ACTING Batch attended Bhartendu Theater Festival

The Acting students of Indian Film & Television Institute were given a rare opportunity to watch some very good plays, by great theater personalities recently in New Delhi. The students , under supervision of their faculty, Sandeep Mahajan attended the BHARTENDU THEATER FESTIVAL conducted by Sahitya Kala Parishad from Nov 28- Dec 8, at Sri Ram Center. Students watched plays like , ' Socrates' by Bapi Bose, " Ek Inspector Se Mulaqat' by Satish Anand, and ' Tamasha Na Hua' Bhanu Bharti. Students got an opportunity to meet and interact with veteran Bhanu Bharti who is an NSD pass out from 1973 batch. This visit was a great learning curve for the acting students for whom it is an integral part of the course to watch plays by veterans and learn the styles of the masters.

PLAY “KHAMOSH ADALAT JAARI HAI” BY ACTING DEPPT OF IFTI

A Special Enactment of the play, “Khamosh Adalat Jaari Hai” written by Vijay Tendulkar, directed by Mr. Sandeep Mahajan and performed by the students of  present Acting Department is being held at Indian Film & Television Institute, at Meerut on 21^st & 22^nd July, at 3:30 pm sharp.

The story is a drama-within-the-drama, which reveals the agonised world of a young school teacher who is humiliated and insulted. Deceived by two lovers with whom she has brief but passionate affairs, she is desperate to lead a respectable life. The play indicts a male-dominated society, reflecting a feminist viewpoint. Its intricate artistry is reflected in the dialectical unity between its form and content. At another level it deals with the mask and the real face and the relationship of art to life.

After successful enactments of plays in the past like, “ Gadhe Ki Baraat”, “Adhe Adhure” and “Bade Bhaisaheb”, the theater group of Acting Department, BAHURANG is poised to present its fourth play.

IFTI always endeavours to encourage the students of various departments to perform and participate in live events and projects which provides them a good platform to hone their skills.

BAHURANG group is one such endeavour which gives the opportunity for the students of Acting, to showcase their learning through classical plays under veterans like K.Paintal and Sandeep Mahajan. The music of the play is given by the faculty of Singing deptt, Javed, Zeshan and Vilayat Khan.

Ghazal King Jagjit Singh remembered by IFTI on 11th Oct

With the sudden passing away of Jagjit Singh, the Ghazal maestro today in the morning, Indian music, in particular Ghazals have been orphaned. The singular contribution of Jagjit Singh was to democratize Ghazals, and make it acceptable to the general public. He was the first Ghazal singer who moved the rendition of Ghazals away from its reliance on classical instruments, to be arranged henceforth with a mixture of English instruments like a guitar, a violin, a bongo, and by infusing such instruments he made its acceptability far and wide.

With his sad demise, his loss would be difficult to fill, but his fans would ensure that he continues to be in the memory for all times to come.

To pay a heartfelt TRIBUTE to Padma Bhushan Sri Jagjit Singh, the Singing Department of IFTI, Meerut, has organised a Ghazal Show with performance of some chosen Ghazals of the maestro sung by the faculty and students at 3:30 pm, at the institute’s amphitheater, Box Office.

IFTI buzzing with activities

IFTI has been buzzing with activities in the month of August! Starting with visits from stalwarts of film industry like Raza Murad who conducted vigorous diction lessons with the students of ACTING dept, Biswajeet expert in martial arts Thangta and Shashidhar Acharya, expert in Chhau Dance,the month also saw the Certification Ceremony of a few passing out batches of Film & TV Direction, Acting, Modelling,Radio Jokceying,Singing, Video Editing & Camera.The guests of honour giving away the certificates were Shweta Singh, noted newsanchor of AajTak Channel and Raza Murad.The students showcased some films made by them in which the notable were, "Rockerzz" by Suraj Sharma & mayank Chauhan of dance and Direction dept, "Evil Deeds" by Anubha Rastogi of Direction dept, "The Death Car" by Vikas Chauahn, a Camera student, "The Window" by Nitin Dhall from Direction dept and "The world Cup" by Dinesh & Nitin, Editing students.

The month also saw auditions conducted by noted organisations Honhaar Trust for a Reality Series on India News channel, called, "Nritya Ka Sagar".Few episodes were also shot in the auditorium, BOX OFFICE at IFTI. An audition for Zee Jagran channel was also conducted by Sur sangam Kala Kendra, Delhi at IFTI premises where a no of IFTIans participated besides outisiders and were selecetd too for the final round.

The students of dance department performed a dance drama on livelihood at the famous Jeevika documentary festival at India habitat Center under their faculty, Suraj, which was well applauded and received.

Later during the month, ETV did a shooting on the Anna Hazare movement that has penetarted even the colleges and media institutes, where the Acting deptt did a street play under faculty Sandeep mahajan, which was captured in the camera and shown on ETV.

The Month ended with a mega 2-day Film making workshop conducted by noted and veterans from the TV industry to guide and help the students who want to enter media.Ajay Shetty, Adarsh rastogi, tanuja Shankar and Dharampal Dhiman were a few notable names who helped the 100 odd students produce 10-Shot films on thre given topic, "anti corruption".The films were well made and demonstarted the learning of 2 days by these aspiring film makers.

This is going to be followed by an Animation Workshop where an animation specialist is going to show films and demonstarte about the magical world of animation and VFX on 11th Sept at IFTI

AUDITION FOR SELECTION HELD BY IFTI, MEERUT, FINDS MORE THAN 100 TALENTED YOUNGSTERS PARTICIPATE AT ROORKEE

Indian Film & Television Institute, North India’s biggest media institute, situated at Meerut, has an eye for talent and aims to bring together talented people on one platform.

Indian Film & Television Institute, Meerut has been the pioneer in organizing one of the BIGGEST talent hunts of Western UP & NCR,  so that aspiring students wanting to enter the fields of ACTING, MODELING, DANCING & SINGING can get training at IFTI and are able to get a platform for performance.

“HUNAR DIKHLA JA”  an event for AUDITIONS FOR ADMISSIONS,was conceived last year with this aim, to bring to light, the multitudinous talents present in the people of Western Up who are usually not recognized by the media and entertainment industry.

This year “HUNAR DIKHLA JA” is being organized at 7 different cities, which started with SAHARANPUR on 30^th April . Famous actors Paintal and Kanwaljit came to SAHARANPUR to judge this mega talent hunt which SHOWCASED the best talents of the city and IFTI was able to select some very talented young people for its forthcoming sessions.

The second Audition was held at DEHRADUN on 15^th May where, notable personalities like Gurdip Punjj of Sanjivni fame, and Hitendra Paintal from the film & television industries were present to judge the event.

The next Audition was held at ALWAR, on 6^th June at Hotel Aravali, preceded by a Press Conference on 27^th May where well know actor  Mr. K Paintal had presiding over.The Alwar Audition also had Actor & Anchor, Srivardhan Trivedi of SANSANI fame, judging the talents of the students together with Paintal, Javed Khan( HOD Singing, of Indore-Delhi Gharana) and Suraj Sharma( Assistant, Remo D’Souza)

On 16^th July,  Audition For Selection was held at ROORKEE for talented students of the city and other nearby towns like Haridwar etc. The event was at Hotel Centruum, Delhi Road from 9 am-4 pm.The Judges comprised of Mr.Paintal and  the faculty and Directors of IFTI. More than 100 enthusiastic youngsters participated and showed their unique talent in various categories like acting, singing, dancing and modeling. It was noticed that Roorke emerged as one of the biggest hot spots of talents in the entire UP during this Hunar Dikhla Ja Auditions!

The finalists of every category of each contest would get scholarships at IFTI of 25 %-15%-10%. The students with exemplary talent would be given roles in the forthcoming film to be produced by IFTI.Admitted students at IFTI would be given opportunities to showcase their talents while they are studying at IFTI through numerous shows, events and films.This  event gives ample opportunity to youngsters to showcase their hidden talents and get training under the masters of the media industry.

Renowned Cultural Center of Agra, KALAKRITI does Campus Selection of 6 dance students of IFTI

6 students of  Dance Course have been selected by the renowned cultural center of Agra, KALAKRITI.These students have been selected as professional dancers for the Ballet Group that showcases well prepared dance dramas in the backdrop of an artificially made Taj Mahal.The students who have been selected through audition are Kapil Sadi, Archna Daksh, Shivani Teotia, Puneet Mittal, Puja Chowdhary and Monika Sharma.These students would not only be given suitable renumeration by the organization, but would also be provided  lodging & mess.

Constituted by Mr.Ashok Jain, KALAKRITI, is a unique cultural organization, that has built a replica of  Tajmahal in 800 kilos of marble which is a wonderous sight to watch. Every day, a beautiful musical drama based on the romantic saga of Mumtaz Mahal is performed by a groups of talented artists and dancers.

 KALAKRITI  is always looking for talented dancers & artists who could make these performances more lively and vibrant for the audiences, and for selection of such talents, they visit well known training centers and media academies where they conduct campus selection.

On 6^th May at IFTI campus, the dance master/Director of these shows at KALAKRITI, Mr.Kamalnath visited and conducted a series of Auditions of talented dance students of IFTI.By doing so, he not only assured offering them a platform, but also assisted IFTI in its constant endeavour to give promotion and platform to all its students in boosting their careers.

Indian Film & Television Institute is one of the biggest media institutes of North India that offers flagship courses in Mass Communication & Journalism, Film & TV Direction, Acting for TV & Films, Dancing, Singing, Modelling and many more related with the Television & Film industries. Kamalnath is a well known Choreographer of Hindi & Regional films and has always been a great dance master, having directed famous film starts like Sanjay Dutt, Anil Kapoor, Salman Khan etc in his prime time. Today being associated with this mega production of KALAKRITI, he ensures that the hidden pearls of talents available in smaller cities like Meerut should also be given a chance to excel and perform.
